The Dubrovnik Old Town is truly magnificent, despite the tourist crowds. It truly is an open-air museum, and every time we went anywhere, we were in awe as we looked around. Maybe we missed a bunch of museums and churches, but none of us really cared.
From your hotel it is a two minute walk to the main road, where you'll see the bus stop. On the way to Dubrovnik the bus may stop at the cable car (I don't know for sure).
